Living Example

In Hosea 1, we see a man that was a living example to the people of Israel.  He was married to a prostitute named Gomer.  He raise children and they were named for the three principle sins of Israel.  His whole life was to show what Israel had become.  This must have been a hard road for Hosea.  One time he had to go and buy back his wife from the slave market.  This is an example of how God want to buy or bring back Israel to Himself.  Israel had become like a harlot, following the gods of the nations around them.  They had forgotten about their first love.  They had become an abomination in God's sight.  Yet God wanted them back and He showed this through the living example of Hosea.  God wants to use you to be a living example to this world.  Sometimes it is hard but the Lord is depending on you.  Your promises today are:  Psalm 37:24, Prov 2:8, Isaiah 30:21, John 16:13, Rom 12:1-2.  Your insightful sayings are:  It has been said that tribulation works patience but so do line ups at  your local government office.  I wonder if the writer had this in mind.  The priority of life is loving God and then others.
